Families are assured of a splashing time at the Kandawgyi Water Park which offers 13 attractions, including a pool with manmade waves, at Mandalay Kandawgyi.

Park manager Ko Thet Naing Tun said the park has everything for everyone -- play areas for children and relaxing spots for adults.

He said one of the interesting attractions is the 5-foot deep pool with artificial waves.

“We built it in such a way that visitors will feel like they are at the beach. The artificial waves switch every 15 minutes, so visitors will experience different waves,” he said.

The park also has a number of rides like the Horse World, Tiger World, animal rides for children and waterslides. There are also 5D and 9D digital movie theatres.

There is no entrance fee into the new water park. Visitors will pay a fee for each attraction they want to experience.
The fees will be K3000 per person for those who want to splash in the water. There is no time limit.

But there will be a time limit for other attractions with fees ranging from K500 to K1000.

A local, Ma Ei Thwe, 30, said the park had a lot to offer visitors but wished that the fees could be lower.

“I would, however, like the prices to be a bit (more) affordable.

“I would also like the government to build places for the public to rest and relax, without charge,” she said.

The Mandalay Kandawgyi Water Park is built over five acres. It opens daily from 9am to 8pm.

The park offers entertainment programs during weekends.
